Bangladesh Primer League, the franchise cricket league of the country, is going on from 4th November 2017. In BPL 2017, total seven teams will face each other among themselves for twice. As per the regulations, five foreign players are allowed to play in a single match.
However, the governing body of BPL 2017 has introduced a new rule for this year edition. They allowed the franchise to play maximum five players for each team. But it is an exception regarding the other franchise league of different countries such as Indian Premier League, Big Bash, Caribbean Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Sri Lankan Premier League and so on.
The member secretary of BPL 2017 governing council, Ismail Haider Mallick, told the press on July 24, 2017. The governing body decided to play five foreign players in BPL 2017 to make more amazing and charming.
In the press conference, I H Mallick said that playing five foreign players in BPL 2017 is quite exceptional, but they wanted to make BPL 2017 more enjoyable. Five among seven franchises asked for five players while remaining two franchises wanted the existing system.
The governing council had a closed-door meeting on the issue for several times and finalized the decision. The decision was, a team must have to play minimum three foreign players in BPL, but they can field five players most for each match.
Foreign Players in BPL 2017
BPL 2017 governing body introduced several terms for each franchise of the tournament. Though ownership has been changed for several teams like Dhaka Dynamites and Surma Sylhet Sixers, the rules are almost same as the previous year.
The franchises have to pick 13 local players up from the players’ draft. On the other hand, they also have to pick two foreign players in the auction from the foreign players’ draft. The auction had been held on September 30, 2017, in Hotel Radisson Blue, a renowned five-star hotel in Dhaka.
Out of the auction, a franchise can also contact a foreign player and can bring him to be played by their efforts. Here, the governing council has not a concern for the payment.
Here is the ultimate list of the foreign players in BPL along with the team for which they’ll play:

Foreign Players in BPL make the tournament an international one. They also give us much pleasure as cricket is the most popular game of the nation. However, each team will play 12 matches in the group stages, and top four will go to the qualifier round.
A total 60 matches will be played in the whole tournament. As each team has more foreign players than required, so single one isn’t an automatic choice for the match. They have to perform to book the place in the best eleven.
Holla, enjoy BPL 2017.
